Margt að varast ! / Ba aware !

Nú er ákvörðunin tekin, og undirbúningur hafinn.  Að fara svona langferð krefst mikils undirbúnings og í mörg horn að líta.  Vegabréfsáritanir, tryggingamál, leyfi fyrir mótorhjólið, útvega kort, ákveða nákvæma leið, hvar á að gista, hvað á að taka með og hvað ekki, læra að skrúfa mótorhjólið sundur og saman, varahlutir, gjaldeyrir fyrir hvert land, flug og flutningar ofl. ofl. ofl........... Nú fer öll þessi vinna af stað og veitir ekki af tímanum.  Konan mín hjálpar mér mikið í þessum málum, en finnst það á vissan hátt erfitt að hjálpa mér og styðja, því um leið er hún smeik og með áhyggjur af þessari ferð minni.  Það er skiljanlegt því margt getur gerst á svona löngu ferðalagi.  Maður getur dottið einu sinni illa og ferðin er búin !  Þjófnaður og alls kyns hyski eru á ferð þarna úti.  Nú svo eru skógarbirnir og mosqito flugur í Síberíu sem geta gert manni lífið leitt.  Ef maður dettur illa t.d. á fáförnum slóðum í Rússlandi eða Mongólíu, þá tekur maður ekki upp símann og hringir í 112 og biður um að láta sækja sig !!!  Þetta er ekki alveg svo einfalt.  Maður er algjörlega einn !!!   Enn þetta er það sem gerir svona ferð líka spennandi, fyrir utan að sjá ný lönd og nýtt fólk sem kemur úr öðru umhverfi og öðrum menningarheimi. 

En nóg í dag. 

Now when the decision has been made, the preparation has begun. This type of journey requires a lot of preparation and there are many things I have to take in to concideration. Visas, insurance, approval for the motorcycle, finding the right maps, deciding the exact way I'll be going, where to spend the nights, what I should take with me and what I shouldn't, learn how to fix every single type of malfunction of the motorcycle, spare parts, currency for each country, flights, transportation etc. I have to start working on this as soon as possible because I'll definitely need the time! My wife is a big help for me in the preparation even though it's hard for her,in a way, to support and help me with something that can be this dangerous. Her fear is very understandable because many things could happen during the long journey. I could simply have a single bad fall and the whole journey is over! I also have to watch for thiefs and other bad people on my way. And I can't forget about the brown bears and the mosquitoes in Siberia. If I will get injured or stuck in the lonely paths of Russia or Mongolia I can't just pick up the phone, dial 911, and ask them to please pick me up. It's not that simple because I'll be completely by my self and on my own. But that's also what makes the journey so exciting, plus experiencing all the various things the countries have to offer and seeing all the people from different environments and different cultures.
